Methodology

How BlogAmplify plans, researches and checks every article

Every article starts from what already ranks for its search. BlogAmplify reads the top pages, gathers evidence that code checks against each source, and states only what that evidence, your website or your own answers support. Checks and up to two revisions follow, then the article publishes on its day.

1. Planning a month of topics

Every plan covers the next 30 days, one topic a day (two or three with extra articles). The planner starts from your website, not from a generic keyword list.

  • It reads every page in your sitemap and the articles you already have, your Google Search Console and Bing data when you connect them, keyword and ranking data for your site and your competitors, and the gaps competitors leave.
  • Each plan starts with a web search for what is current in your field (the newest versions, releases, rules and prices), so no topic is built on a name that has been replaced.
  • Search demand is measured for every topic's own keyword, whatever the planner suggested. Topics nobody measurably searches are kept to a third of a plan at most.
  • Difficulty is judged against your site's own reach: the keywords it already ranks for on page one, or what its Domain Rating usually wins. Topics beyond that reach are kept to a fifth of a plan at most.
  • Google is checked for every topic. A search where fewer than 3 of the top 10 results are articles (tools, product pages, marketplaces) is not a blog topic.
  • A topic your site already covers, by wording, by Google's results or by your Search Console data, goes to that page as an update suggestion instead of a new article that would compete with it.
  • Topics built on a product or service your own pages show you don't offer, and topics aimed at a country other than your main market, are sent back and replaced.
  • Formats follow your type of business, and a topic switches format when most of Google's top results agree on another one.

2. Reading what already ranks

Before writing, BlogAmplify fetches the top 5 pages ranking for the topic's search and pulls out their headings, tables and lists. From them it builds a coverage map: what the searcher wants to get done, what every good answer includes (the table stakes) and what sets the best pages apart.

  • Figures that at least two ranking pages give are kept as common guidance and stated as such.
  • For businesses that serve an area, up to 3 pages ranking for the search plus your first service area add the local figures people there expect.
  • The outline maps every table-stakes element to a section with something concrete to deliver, or leaves it out with a reason.

3. Research checked against each source

Research gathers evidence as exact excerpts from its sources. Code then fetches every source itself, PDFs included, and checks that the excerpt and its numbers are really on the page. Evidence that doesn't match is dropped.

  • Competitors' pages, booking portals, copies of other sites and user-generated pages are rejected as sources, and the rest are ranked by authority.
  • On health, legal and money topics, pages from sellers are rejected too.
  • Research also looks for evidence for every table-stakes element, so the article can cover what searchers expect without guessing.

4. Your business's own facts

Facts about your business come from your own website first: product pages as they render, prices, hours, guarantees and the other first-hand details that match the topic.

  • When your live website disagrees with the profile you gave us, the live website wins and the difference is shown in the editor.
  • A fact about your business that nobody supplied is left out of the article rather than guessed, and asked as a short question you can answer if you like. The article is written either way.
  • Articles address readers the way your own pages do, for example formally or informally in languages that have both.
  • Articles never invent quotes, reviews, customer stories or first-hand experience.

5. Writing

The writer may state only what the checked evidence, your website, your profile, your answers and the common figures support. Within that, it writes with a confident voice instead of hedging every line.

  • The answer comes first, and a question about a quantity gets a number.
  • Calculations are shown in plain numbers (for example, $500,000 x 2.75% = $13,750), with each assumption stated once.
  • Templates and checklists become tables or steps a reader can copy, never pasted code.
  • Every source the article names is linked.

6. Checks and revisions

Each draft goes through checks in code and a review, then up to 2 revisions that edit only the passages flagged.

  • Every number must trace back to the evidence, your facts, a common figure or a worked example. Code re-computes worked examples from their stated inputs, so a wrong sum or an invented rate fails.
  • Code also checks that the answer comes first, every named source is linked, tables have at most 5 columns and no empty cells, and no template leftovers or pasted code remain.
  • A reviewer compares the draft with the pages that rank and runs pass or fail checks, including whether it covers what searchers expect.
  • A final copy edit improves the wording for readers. Code rejects any edit that adds a number, changes a link or cuts too much, so the copy edit can't change the facts.

7. Images

Every article gets a header image and section images in the styles you choose in Article settings, and, where an article has sourced figures to compare, a chart drawn from them.

  • Where your website has a photo that fits, such as the product a section is about, it is used instead. You can switch that off.
  • Section images are checked for errors, wrong text and anything that doesn't fit the article. A site photo one of your recent articles used isn't used again.
  • No generated maps: borders come out wrong.

8. Publishing on schedule

Articles are never held back. With auto-publish on, which is the default, every written article goes live on its date. What the checks couldn't fix is recorded as a quality note that we use to improve the engine.

  • Want to check each article first? Turn auto-publish off in Article settings: nothing is written until you start it from the planner, and you edit and publish it from the editor.
  • Every article gets BlogPosting structured data with its author, FAQPage when it has an FAQ and VideoObject when it embeds a video. On Shopify your theme's article markup is kept and ours adds the FAQ and video; on WordPress with an SEO plugin the plugin's article markup is kept; Notion pages can't carry structured data.
  • Republishing updates the live article in place, keeping its address and publish date, never as a duplicate.
  • A step that fails because a service is busy or down is retried, and the article resumes from its last finished step.

9. After publishing

Publishing isn't the end. Site Health reads each article at its address and watches the whole site. Automatic article updates make small, checked edits with undo: an answer for searches Google shows the article for but it doesn't answer, what the top results cover when it sits just off page one, changed product prices and broken links. Title, address and publish date never change.

10. What we test but don't ship

We also test other checks and writing models in blind comparisons with the articles we publish today. They are not part of the product, and this page describes only what runs in production. Read how we judge them in our notes on blind-judging AI articles.

None of this guarantees rankings or AI mentions, and we don't promise them. For how we write and correct our own blog, see the editorial policy. For whether AI-written articles can rank at all, see is AI content bad for SEO.
