AI visibility tracking
AI Visibility Tracking That Turns Missed Answers Into Articles
BlogAmplify asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode up to 50 questions your customers ask, every day, and records whether each answer names your business, links your site or leaves you out. Where competitors are named instead, it plans the article meant to change that answer.
On Growth + AI Visibility, $199/mo, or $150 a month for an extra website with AI visibility.
What we check
Every day, each tracked question is put to five AI engines. We read the answer the way a customer would see it, then record what it says about you, which other brands it names and which pages it cites.
| Engine | What we read | Weight in the score |
|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT | ChatGPT's answer to the question and the pages it cites | 0.30 |
| Google AI Overviews | The AI Overview on Google's results page for the question. A search without one counts as no answer | 0.30 |
| Gemini | Gemini's answer and its sources | 0.15 |
| Google AI Mode | The answer in Google's AI Mode | 0.10 |
| Perplexity | Perplexity's answer and its sources | 0.08 |
The questions
You don't have to write them. We research them for you: questions people ask AI about your category, questions whose answers cite your competitors and questions that already cite your site, each with an estimate of how often its subject comes up. They are grouped into at most 7 plain topics, written in your main market's language, and only a small share name your business.
You can pin a question, pause it or add your own, up to 50. Once a month the set is maintained: at most a fifth of the questions nobody pinned can change, and the questions you chose, pinned or have an article in progress for are never dropped. Every change is listed with its reason.
Named, linked or left out
Every answer lands in one of three places:
- Named: the answer mentions your business. We also record your place among the brands it names, first, second or later.
- Linked: the answer cites a page of your site, whether or not it names you.
- Left out: neither. When the same answer names competitors or cites their sites, that question is a gap.
From those we show, per engine and per topic: how often you are named, how often you are linked, your share of all brand mentions, and the tone of the answers that name you. Your first check works as an AI visibility audit: a baseline of where you stand before anything new is written.
The score
Each answer scores 50 points when it names you, plus 30 if you are named first, 20 if second and 10 if third, and another 20 when it also links your site. A link without your name scores 30, and left out scores 0. Answers are weighted by engine (the table above) and by how important the question is, from 0 to 100. The change shown compares only the questions both checks asked, so swapping questions never moves your trend. The method is explained further in how to measure AI visibility.
What happens next: from gaps to articles
Tracking is the start. What makes it worth paying for is what the gaps turn into.
- Goals. A question becomes a goal when AI names competitors or cites other sites there and names or links you on fewer than half of the engines that answered. An important question also opens one when ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews leave you out.
- Planned articles. Your next content plan starts from the open goals. It plans a topic for every goal it can answer, on up to 4 of every 5 topics, so at least a fifth of the month still follows Google searches. One article can answer up to 3 goals about the same subject, and topics already planned that clearly answer a goal take it on.
- Answer targets. In the article, each question gets a heading or FAQ worded like it, with a 40 to 70 word answer that stands on its own. The article covers what today's answers miss, states only what its sources and your site support, names your business only where your own pages back it up, and never claims a ranking. A question comparing two other brands gets a fair comparison first.
- Measuring the result. Once the article is live we keep asking. A goal is won when you are named or linked on at least half the engines that answer, in two checks in a row. If AI still leaves you out after 8 checks or 60 days, the article goes on the refresh list. A won question that slips back opens again with a higher priority.
Each month you also get insights: what AI says about you (praise and criticism, quoted from real answers), what it gets wrong (with the correction from your own pages) and where the answers get their information, such as review sites, directories, forums or competitors, with a practical next step for each. A monthly report sits on your dashboard, and a short email arrives at most once a week when something improved, such as AI naming you for the first time. Nothing improved, no email.
The pages AI cites for your questions also feed Get listed, which suggests third-party pages worth being listed on.
A real report
This is CamClo, an AI product-photo tool our founder runs, tracked on the same five engines with 50 questions. It is checked weekly rather than daily, so its two latest runs are six days apart. The numbers are low, and that is why we show them: this is what a young brand looks like when AI barely names it outside the questions that name it.

Questions that name CamClo
Scored apart: 91 out of 100, named in 96% of answers. Asked about by name, AI knows the business. The work is in the questions that don't name it.
Goals (43 so far)
26 planned into articles, 4 published, 13 waiting for the next content plan, and none won yet: a win needs two checks in a row.
Asked about by name, AI knows CamClo well. Asked about the category, other tools fill the answers, so the useful output is the list of questions to work on. Of the 7 topics, model editing is where CamClo already shows up, and product photos, one of the two largest groups, is where it doesn't yet.
ChatGPT
ChatGPT carries the largest weight in the score with Google AI Overviews. We record whether its answer names you, where you appear among the brands it lists, and which pages it cites, since a citation is how a reader reaches your site from an answer. In the report above, ChatGPT named CamClo in 1 of 45 answers and linked its site in 4.

Google AI Overviews
AI Overviews are read from Google's own results for each question. Google doesn't show one for every search, so a search without an overview counts as no answer and stays out of the rates. Our articles that already rank on Google get a second, weekly check of their main search. The details are on the AI Overview tracker page.
Honest limits
- Your tracked questions are asked in your main market. The monthly mentions summary from our data provider covers ChatGPT for US English only.
- A search without an AI Overview counts as no answer and is left out of the rates.
- Questions that name your business are scored apart. AI almost always names you when asked about you by name, so counting them would flatter the score.
- AI answers change from one ask to the next. Each question is asked once per engine per check, which is why a win needs two checks in a row and why trends matter more than a single day.
- We can't make an assistant name you. We publish what it can quote, and we measure whether it does.
- Five engines are tracked. Other assistants are not.

Frequently asked questions
What is an AI visibility platform?
It is software that asks AI assistants the questions your customers ask and records whether each answer names your business, links to your site or names competitors instead. BlogAmplify adds the next step: it plans and writes the articles meant to change the answers that leave you out.
How is AI brand visibility measured?
Each answer is read for whether it names your business, where it places you among the brands it names, and whether it links a page of your site. Those become rates per engine, your share of brand mentions and a score from 0 to 100, weighted by engine reach and by how important each question is.
How often are the questions checked?
Every day, on all five engines, for up to 50 questions, on Growth + AI Visibility and on extra websites with AI visibility. Each question is asked once per engine per check, and trends compare only the questions both checks asked.
Can I choose the questions?
Yes. The questions are researched for you, and you can pin one, pause one or add your own, up to 50. A monthly upkeep may swap a few of the questions nobody pinned, but never the ones you chose, pinned or that have an article in progress.
How soon will AI assistants name my business?
Nobody can promise that. An article has to go live, be found and be judged worth quoting. We count a question as won only when you are named or linked on at least half the engines that answer, in two checks in a row, so a single lucky answer never counts.
Are articles on the Growth plan written for AI answers too?
Yes. On every plan, articles put the answer first, link their sources and carry FAQ and article structured data. The AI visibility plan adds the daily checks and plans articles around the exact questions where AI names someone else.
