How to Connect Bing Webmaster Tools to BlogAmplify

Connect Bing Webmaster Tools so Bing hears about each new article as it publishes, and your Bing searches feed your content plans.

What BlogAmplify does with Bing

When an article publishes for the first time, BlogAmplify sends its address to Bing (Bing's SubmitUrlBatch), within your site's daily submission allowance, so Bing can crawl it without waiting for your sitemap. Bing's index is used by Microsoft Copilot and is one of the sources behind ChatGPT search.

Every Monday, BlogAmplify also imports your Bing search queries (clicks, impressions and average position per week). Your content plans use them next to Google's: your top Bing searches, and Bing searches no page of yours answers yet.

Before you start

  • 1A BlogAmplify plan for this website (the 3-day trial counts). See pricing
  • 2A Bing Webmaster Tools account (free, with a Microsoft, Google or Facebook sign-in)
  • 3Your website added and verified there

Steps

  1. Step 1: Add and verify your site in Bing Webmaster Tools

Sign in at bing.com/webmasters and add your website if it isn't there yet. The quickest way is Import from Google Search Console, which adds and verifies your sites in one go. Otherwise add the site and verify it with the method Bing offers (a meta tag, a file or a DNS record).

BlogAmplify can only use a site that is verified in your Bing account.

  2. Step 2: Open the Bing setting in BlogAmplify

On a new website, it is on the Blog Setup step of onboarding (step 2), under Bing Integration (optional). On a website that is already set up, open Article Config in the sidebar and find the Bing Webmaster Tools card.

  3. Step 3: Click Connect Bing and allow access

Bing's sign-in page opens in the same tab (during onboarding, the step is saved first). Sign in with the account you use for Bing Webmaster Tools and allow access. BlogAmplify asks for the webmaster.manage permission: Bing's read-only permission doesn't allow sending addresses, so this one is needed to submit your new articles.

You come back to the page you started from.

  4. Step 4: Confirm the site

When your website is verified in Bing, BlogAmplify picks it and the card shows Connected to with its address. If it can't tell which site is yours, choose it under Choose your site in Bing and click Save.

The card then counts the articles sent to Bing and shows when your queries were last imported. The first import runs right after you connect.

Troubleshooting

"Your site isn't verified in Bing Webmaster Tools yet"

Add the site in Bing Webmaster Tools and verify it (importing from Google Search Console is the fastest way), then reload the BlogAmplify page and choose it.

A new article wasn't sent to Bing

  • Bing gives each site a daily number of address submissions. When it is used up, the article is skipped
  • Only articles on the connected site's domain are sent. Pages published somewhere else, such as Notion, aren't
  • Updates to an article aren't sent again; only its first publish is
  • Bing can still find skipped articles through your sitemap and links. A Bing problem never stops an article from publishing

The card shows Connect Bing again after it was connected

Bing stopped accepting the stored sign-in, for example after access was removed on Bing's side, so BlogAmplify stopped using it. Click Connect Bing again with the same account.

There is no Bing card in BlogAmplify

The card only appears when the Bing connection is available. If you don't see it, contact us and we'll look into it.

Frequently asked questions

Is Bing Webmaster Tools required?

No, it is optional. Without it, articles still publish and Bing finds them through your sitemap. Connecting it gets new articles to Bing sooner and adds your Bing searches to your plans.

Does BlogAmplify change anything else in my Bing account?

No. It lists your sites to find this website, reads your submission allowance and query stats, and sends the address of each newly published article. It doesn't change settings, sitemaps or users.

Does BlogAmplify import Bing's AI Performance report?

No. Bing doesn't offer that report through its API, so it isn't imported. You can see it in Bing Webmaster Tools.

How do I disconnect Bing?

Click Disconnect on the Bing Webmaster Tools card in Article Config. BlogAmplify deletes its stored sign-in at once, which ends its access.
