How to Connect Claude, ChatGPT and Other AI Apps to BlogAmplify
Let the AI app you already use read your Site Health, rankings, plans and listings, and fix what it finds, with your confirmation for anything costly or live.
By Kush Agrawal · Updated
What a connected app can do
BlogAmplify runs an MCP server, the standard way AI apps connect to other services. Once you connect Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor or another MCP app, it can read what BlogAmplify knows about your website and act on it: the Site Health problems and how to fix them, your rankings and articles losing traffic, your content plan and articles, your Get listed board, local search and AI visibility.
Changes to your plan, articles and settings apply at once and can be undone. Writing or rewriting an article, a new content plan, publishing and fixes to live articles only run once you confirm them. The app can't buy anything or change your plan.
An app can also do what BlogAmplify can't do from here: if it has access to your CMS or your site's code, it can fix the problems Site Health finds on your other pages, then ask BlogAmplify to check the fix. And it can send the Get listed pitches from your email, when you ask it to.
Before you start
- 1A BlogAmplify plan for your website (the 3-day trial counts). See pricing
- 2Your website set up in BlogAmplify
- 3An AI app that connects to remote MCP servers: Claude, ChatGPT with developer mode, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code or another
Steps
Step 1: Copy the server address
BlogAmplify's MCP server is at:
https://api.blogamplify.com/mcp
You also find it in BlogAmplify under Settings, Connected apps, with the setup for each app.
Step 2: Add it to your AI app
In Claude, add a custom connector; in Claude Code, run one command; in Cursor or VS Code, add a few lines to the MCP settings. Each app's steps are in the table below.
Step 3: Sign in and choose what the app may do
The app opens BlogAmplify in your browser. Sign in if you aren't, then check which app is asking and where it goes back to, and choose:
- Read and make changes or Read only
- All your websites (also ones you add later), or only some of them
Click Allow. You go back to the app, which is now connected.
Step 4: Ask it something
For example:
- "What are the most important things to fix on my website, and how?"
- "Which of my articles are losing traffic, and why?"
- "Draft pitches for the three best pages on my Get listed board."
- "Which questions do AI assistants answer without naming us?"
Apps that show prompts, such as Claude Code, also list BlogAmplify's ready-made workflows (below).
How to add BlogAmplify to each app
Claude (web and desktop)
Open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector. Name it BlogAmplify, paste the server address, leave the advanced settings empty and click Add, then Connect. In a chat, turn BlogAmplify on from the tools menu. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds the connector under Admin settings first.
ChatGPT
Turn on Developer mode (Settings, Apps and connectors, Advanced settings; it is available on some plans), then create a connector with the server address and OAuth as the authentication.
Claude Code
Run this in your terminal, then type /mcp in Claude Code, choose blogamplify and Authenticate:
claude mcp add --transport http blogamplify https://api.blogamplify.com/mcp
Cursor
Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Cursor opens BlogAmplify in your browser to sign in the first time:
{
"mcpServers": {
"blogamplify": {
"url": "https://api.blogamplify.com/mcp"
}
}
}VS Code
Add this to .vscode/mcp.json, or run MCP: Add Server and choose HTTP:
{
"servers": {
"blogamplify": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://api.blogamplify.com/mcp"
}
}
}Other MCP apps and your own scripts
Any app that connects to remote MCP servers over HTTP works. Apps that sign in through the browser find BlogAmplify's sign-in by themselves. For the others, use an API key (below).
What the app can use
BlogAmplify gives the app these tools. They are the same as the in-app assistant's, with the same checks and limits. Tools that read never change anything; a read-only connection sees only those.
Your websites
list_websites | The websites the app may use, with their plan. |
get_overview | A website at a glance: business, plan window, topics, auto-publish and writing settings. |
billing_options | The website's plan, with a link to the billing page. It never buys or changes anything. |
Site Health
site_health | The health score and Domain Rating against where the site started, open problems with fix steps for your platform, index status, rankings and articles losing traffic. |
site_issue_details | Everything needed to fix one problem: the page as last read, its title and description with their lengths, images without alt text, and the exact steps. |
article_updates | The automatic updates made to your published articles, with what changed and why. |
who_ranks | For one article: what the pages ranking above it cover, what the article added, and Google's first page at the latest weekly read. |
Content plan and articles
list_topics | Planned topics between two days. |
get_topic | Everything about one topic: keyword, format, brief, owner questions and search data. |
check_topic_idea | Checks a topic idea the way the planner does: duplicates, pages that already cover it, market and format. |
plan_insights | What the last plan learned: pages to refresh, what's working, outdated names. |
list_articles | Your articles, newest first. |
get_article | One article: title, description, outline, status and live address. |
list_site_posts | Every blog post on your website, written by BlogAmplify or not, with Search Console clicks. |
job_status | The progress of a plan being made or an article being written. |
action_status | Whether a proposal was confirmed and ran, or a change was undone. |
Your website's own pages
search_site | Full-text search over your crawled website. |
search_site_images | The photos on your website, by what they show. |
read_site_page | One page of your website, live. |
Search data
search_console | Your synced Search Console data: top searches and pages, searches close to page one, declining pages. |
keyword_metrics | Monthly searches, difficulty and intent for keywords in your main market. |
keyword_ideas | Related searches around a keyword. |
serp_top10 | Google's top 10 for a keyword, with the format each result is. |
Get listed and local search
get_listed | Third-party pages worth getting listed on, with their addresses, why each matters and whether it links to you. |
get_listed_left_out | Competitors', vendors' and platforms' pages the board leaves out, why, and every call you made on a site. |
local_search | Your Google Business Profile and what it lacks, map rankings, directories and local problems. |
AI visibility
ai_visibility | How AI assistants answer the questions you track: score, mentions, citations, gaps and goals. |
ai_answers | The latest AI answers to one tracked question, with what they name and cite. |
Changes, applied at once
Changes to your plan, articles and settings can be undone, by the app or by you in Settings, Connected apps.

update_site_settings | Changes the tone, instructions, brand facts and business profile (instructions and facts after you confirm them). |
update_article_fields | Changes an article's title, description or address in BlogAmplify. |

local_search_action | Looks up your Google Business Profile again, or marks a directory listed or not for you. |
undo_change | Undoes a change the app made. |
Proposals, run only once you confirm
The app proposes; nothing runs until you confirm.

propose_rewrite_article | Rewrites an unpublished draft, optionally with a new title, keyword or brief. |
propose_regenerate_plan | Makes a new content plan for the plan window. |
propose_publish_article | Publishes an article to your website, or updates a published one in place. |
propose_fix_issue | Fix it for me: repairs broken links in an article BlogAmplify published. |
propose_article_update | Updates a published article with a short, sourced addition, or puts an update back. |
Ready-made workflows
Apps that show MCP prompts (Claude Code lists them as slash commands) offer these:
- SEO check-up: What improved, and the most valuable things to do this week.
- Fix Site Health issues: Works through open problems with the exact fix for each, then checks the fixes.
- Get listed outreach: Picks the best pages, drafts a pitch for each and prepares the emails for your approval.
- Review the content plan: Finds weak, overlapping or outdated topics and suggests better ones.
- Close AI visibility gaps: The questions AI answers without naming you, and what to do about each.
- Local search check-up: Your Google Business Profile, map rankings and directories, with what to fix first.
What needs your confirmation
- Proposals: writing or rewriting an article, a new content plan, publishing, Fix it for me and article updates. Apps that can show a confirmation ask you there; the others give you a link to BlogAmplify, where you confirm or reject it.
- Your own words: instructions every article follows, brand facts, the business description and owner answers. An app may have read text from anywhere, so these are saved only once you confirm them.
- Nothing about money: an app can read your plan and link to the billing page, but never buys, upgrades or cancels anything.
Text from other websites, search results and AI answers reaches the app as data, and BlogAmplify tells the app to treat it that way.
API keys, for apps that can't sign in
Some apps and your own scripts can't sign in through the browser. In Settings, Connected apps, click New API key, choose what it may do and on which websites, and copy the key: it is shown once. Send it as a header:
{
"mcpServers": {
"blogamplify": {
"url": "https://api.blogamplify.com/mcp",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer bamcp_sk_..."
}
}
}
}Keep keys out of shared files and repositories. Remove a key in the same place, and it stops working at once.
For developers
- Remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP, protocol version 2025-11-25 (earlier versions work too), tools and prompts.
- OAuth 2.1 with PKCE (S256), dynamic client registration and Client ID Metadata Documents; discovery at
/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcpon the API. Scopes:readandwrite. - Access tokens last an hour; refresh tokens are replaced on every use and last 90 days.
- Every tool that works on a website takes an optional
websiteargument (a domain or the id fromlist_websites). - Proposals use MCP elicitation for the owner's confirmation when the app supports it, else return a confirm link.
Troubleshooting
The app says it couldn't connect, or asks to sign in again
Its sign-in expired (after 90 days without use) or was removed in Settings, Connected apps. Connect again from the app. An API key that stopped working was removed: make a new one.
The app says it has read access only
You chose Read only when you connected it. Change it in Settings, Connected apps, with Change.
The app asks which website to use
It can use several of your websites. Name the website in your request (its domain, such as example.com), or limit the app to one website in Settings, Connected apps.
A proposal never showed a confirmation in the app
Not every app can show a confirmation. Then the app gives you a link: it opens BlogAmplify on that proposal with Confirm and Reject. Every proposal waiting for you is also listed in Settings, Connected apps. A proposal expires after 24 hours.
It says this website's plan isn't active
Apps work on websites with a running plan, as the rest of BlogAmplify does. Restart the plan on the billing page.
Frequently asked questions
Is it included in my plan?
Yes, on every plan. Each app may make up to 60 calls a minute and 3,000 a day. Keyword lookups, image making and article rewrites share the daily allowance of the in-app assistant.
Can an app publish or write articles without me?
No. Writing or rewriting an article, a new content plan, publishing, Fix it for me and article updates are proposals: they run only once you confirm them, in the app's own confirmation prompt or on BlogAmplify's Connected apps page.
What does the app see?
What BlogAmplify knows about the websites you allowed: Site Health, plans, articles, search data, Get listed and AI visibility. Never your password, payment details or other accounts. What the app reads goes to the app's own AI service, under that app's terms.
Can it save instructions or facts about my business?
Only with your confirmation. Instructions every article follows, brand facts, the business description and answers to owner questions are saved after you confirm them in the app. Apps that can't ask for a confirmation can't save them; add them in BlogAmplify instead.
How do I see what an app did, or undo it?
Settings, Connected apps lists every call each app made on the website you have open, with Undo for its changes and Confirm or Reject for its proposals. You can also ask the app itself to undo a change.
How do I remove an app's access?
In Settings, Connected apps, click Remove next to the app or key. It loses access at once. What it changed before stays.
Ready to connect your website?
Start a plan, then connect your blog during setup. It takes a few minutes.
