How to Connect Google Search Console to BlogAmplify
Connect your Search Console property so plans, articles and Site Health work from the searches your site really gets.

What BlogAmplify reads
BlogAmplify asks Google for read-only access to Search Console (webmasters.readonly) and for your Google account's email address. It reads your search performance every night and asks Google about the index status of a few pages, then uses that to plan topics, write articles and fill in Site Health.
The access is read-only: BlogAmplify can't change settings, submit sitemaps, remove pages, request indexing or add users. Each website you run in BlogAmplify connects its own property.
Before you start
- 1A BlogAmplify plan for this website (the 3-day trial counts). See pricing
- 2Your website verified in Google Search Console, ideally as a Domain property
- 3A Google account with access to that property
Steps
Step 1: Open the Search Console setting in BlogAmplify
On a new website, it is on the Blog Setup step of onboarding (step 2), under Search Console Integration. On a website that is already set up, open Article Config in the sidebar and find the same card.
Step 2: Click Connect GSC and sign in with Google
A Google window opens. Choose the Google account that has access to your website in Search Console. Google lists what BlogAmplify asks for:
- View Search Console data for your verified sites (the read-only
webmasters.readonlypermission) - See your primary Google Account email address, so BlogAmplify can show which account is connected
Click Continue. The window closes by itself.
- View Search Console data for your verified sites (the read-only
Step 3: Choose the property
In the Connect Google Search Console dialog, open Search Console Property, choose the property for this website and click Save.
If you have both kinds, choose the Domain property (shown as
sc-domain:example.com). It covers every subdomain and both http and https, while a URL-prefix property (https://www.example.com/) covers only addresses that start with it, which limits the index checks.Step 4: Let the first import run
The card now shows Google Search Console Connected with the property. Data is imported every night at 3 AM in your website's time zone, and a content plan made before the first import runs it first. Search Console's numbers take a few days to settle, so the import stops three days before today.
What is read, and what it is used for
| What BlogAmplify reads | When | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position, by page and by search, for the last 7 days, 28 days and 3 months | Every night | Content plans start from your real searches: pages close to page one, searches you get impressions for without a page, pages losing clicks and pages with a low click-through rate. The dashboard and analytics pages show the same numbers. |
| The same numbers for your main market only (the country your customers are in) | Every night | Plans and articles are written for your main market, so they read its searches, not every country's. |
| The searches each published article ranks for, and its main keyword's position | Every week | Site Health's rankings table, "Articles losing traffic", and automatic article updates that add answers for searches an article already shows up for. |
| Google's index status for up to 25 pages of your sitemap (URL Inspection) | Every night | Site Health shows which pages and articles Google has indexed, and why the others aren't, with Google's last crawl date. |
| Which of your pages show up for a search the planner is considering | While planning | A topic your site already ranks for goes to the existing page as an update suggestion, not a new article. |
| Searches from the nightly import that are related to the article being written | While writing | Searches your site already gets for a topic become headings or FAQ questions in the article. |
Search Console data is stored for this website alone and is never shared with other accounts or websites.
Troubleshooting
Nothing happens when I click Connect GSC
The Google sign-in opens in a pop-up window. Allow pop-ups for BlogAmplify in your browser and click again.
"No properties found"
The Google account you chose has no Search Console properties. Click Manage, then Disconnect, and connect again with the account that has access. Or, in Search Console, add this account under Settings, Users and permissions of the website's property, or verify the website first.
BlogAmplify asks me to reconnect
Google stopped accepting the connection, for example after a password change or after access was removed in your Google Account. Connect again with the same Google account: the property you chose is kept.
The numbers differ from Search Console
Plans read your main market's searches only, and every import ends three days before today. Search Console's own reports default to all countries and include the latest days.
Some pages have no index status
BlogAmplify asks Google about up to 25 pages a night, the articles it published for you first, so a large site takes a few weeks to be covered. Pages outside the chosen property (another subdomain with a URL-prefix property) can't be checked. Google allows 2,000 of these checks a day per property, shared with other tools you use.
Frequently asked questions
Is Search Console required?
No, but it makes plans much better. Without it, BlogAmplify plans from your site's pages and keyword data, and Site Health can't show rankings, index status or articles losing traffic.
Can BlogAmplify request indexing for my articles?
No. Google offers no way for apps to request indexing. When a page isn't indexed, Site Health shows Google's reason and sends you to Search Console's URL Inspection, where you can request it yourself.
How do I remove BlogAmplify's access?
Click Manage on the Search Console card, then Disconnect. BlogAmplify also revokes its Google access unless another of your websites uses the same Google account. You can remove it at any time in your Google Account's security settings too.
Ready to connect your website?
Start a plan, then connect your blog during setup. It takes a few minutes.
Card required. Free for 3 days, then from $99/mo. Cancel before then and pay nothing.
