AI assistant
AI SEO Assistant: Ask, Change and Undo, in BlogAmplify or Your Own AI App
BlogAmplify's assistant is a chat inside the app that reads your content plan, articles, Search Console data, Site Health, listings and AI visibility, and changes them when you ask. Small changes apply at once with Undo; writing, rewriting, a new plan, publishing and live fixes wait for your Confirm. Claude, ChatGPT and other AI apps can use the same tools through MCP.
Updated
What the assistant is
A chat panel on every page of the app: the button at the top right, or Ctrl+J (Cmd+J on a Mac). From 1280 px wide it sits beside the page, so you see a change land; on smaller screens it opens as a sheet. It works on the website you have open. Each website has its own conversations, and one website's chat never sees another's data.
It knows which page you are on, so "this article" or "this question" means the one in front of you. An empty chat starts with suggestions for that page:
| Where you are | What it suggests |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | What should I write about next? / How is my website doing? / What's planned this week? |
| Content planner | What's planned this week? / Replace a weak topic with a better one / Find topic ideas for my free days |
| Article editor | Who ranks for this article's search? / Improve the meta description / Shorten the intro |
| Site Health | What should I fix first? / Fix the broken links you can fix / Which articles are losing traffic? |
| Get listed | Which pages should I pitch first? / Write a pitch for the top page / Which pages link to us now? |
| Local search | What's missing from my Google profile? / Which directories should I join? / How am I doing in Google Maps? |
| AI visibility | Why am I left out of AI answers? / Plan articles for my top AI goals / What does AI say about us? |
Long tasks work too: "find better ideas, then replace the two weakest topics this week" is research and changes in one message, with each step shown as it runs.
What it reads
Reading never changes anything. It reads what the app's pages show, and can look up search data and the web when a question needs it:
| Area | What it reads |
|---|---|
| Your plan and articles | Topics by day with their keyword, format, brief and owner questions; what the last plan learned; every article with its outline and status; every blog post on your site, written by BlogAmplify or not; the progress of a plan or article being made. |
| A topic idea | Checks an idea the way the planner does before anything is added: duplicates, pages that already cover it, another market, outdated names, competitors, format and dates. |
| Your website | Full-text search over your crawled pages, your site's photos by what they show, and any page of your site read live. |
| Search data | Your Search Console data, monthly searches and difficulty for keywords in your main market, related searches, Google's top 10 for a keyword, and a web search when a question needs one. |
| Site Health and upkeep | Your health score and open problems with fix steps for your platform, Google's index status, rankings, articles losing traffic, the updates made to published articles, and who ranks for an article's search. |
| Get listed and local search | Pages worth being listed on and the ones left out, your Google Business Profile, map rankings and directories. |
| AI visibility | How AI assistants answer the questions you track: your score, who they name and cite, your goals, and the latest answers to one question. |
| Your plan | Your website's plan and articles this period, with a button to the billing page. It never buys or changes anything. |
Text from other websites, search results and AI answers is treated as data, never as instructions, and in a message where it read such text the assistant won't save instructions, brand facts, your business description or owner answers. Answers about AI visibility come from your tracked questions; how those are checked is on AI visibility tracking, and why it matters is in how to measure AI visibility.
Changes it makes, each with Undo
When you ask for a change, it makes it right away and shows a card with what changed, before and after, and an Undo button. You can also just ask it to undo something.
| Area | What it can change |
|---|---|
| Topics | Edit a topic, replace it with a better one, add one on a day with room, move it, skip it or bring it back, and save your answer to its question. |
| Articles in BlogAmplify | Change a title, description or address, rewrite one section as you ask (without new facts or numbers), add an illustration or one of your own photos, or make a new header image. |
| Settings | Your tone, instructions every article follows, brand facts and business profile. |
| Tracked AI questions | Add, pin, pause or resume a question your customers ask AI assistants. |
| Site Health, Get listed and local search | Set a problem aside or back, mark a Get listed page or a directory, or tell BlogAmplify whether a site is a competitor. It also checks fixes again, suggests a new title or description and drafts pitches. |
| Undo, and questions for you | Undo a change from the chat, or ask you a question with a few options to pick from when it needs a fact only you know. |
What waits for your Confirm
Anything that writes a whole article, makes a new plan or changes your live website is only proposed. A card says what will happen, and nothing runs until you click Confirm. Reject it, or leave it, and nothing happens: a card nobody confirms expires after 24 hours.
| Proposal | After you confirm |
|---|---|
| Write a planned article now | One of the next 7 days' topics is researched and written now, the same way as every planned article. |
| Rewrite a draft | An unpublished draft is written again, with a new title, keyword, format or brief if you asked for one. For 30 days, while it stays unpublished, you can put the previous draft back. |
| Make a new content plan | A new plan for your plan window, with the same rules and limits as the planner's Regenerate. |
| Publish an article | The article goes to your website, or a published one is updated in place with the same address. |
| Fix it for me | Broken or redirecting links in an article BlogAmplify published are fixed in the live article, after each link is checked again. |
| Update a published article | A small, sourced edit to a live article (a new section, an FAQ answer or a rewritten passage), or an update put back the way it was. |
A rewrite saves the draft it replaces, with its images. For 30 days, while the article is unpublished, Put the previous draft back on the rewrite's card or in the editor restores it, and asks first if you edited the new draft. You can also ask the assistant to put it back.
A confirmed card runs exactly what the app's own buttons run, with the same checks, limits and allowances. Fix it for me and article updates are described on Site Health and article updates.
How it handles facts about your business
- It never makes up a fact about your business. When it needs one only you know, it asks you, often with a few options to tap, or saves it to the topic as a question for you to answer later.
- Topic ideas get the planner's checks before they are added: duplicates, pages that already cover the idea, another market, outdated names, competitors, format and dates.
- A new keyword gets measured search data before it is saved, and it warns you when the keyword gets fewer than 10 searches a month (seasonal searches excepted).
- Rewriting a section adds nothing new: no facts or numbers that weren't in the passage or your instruction, with every link, image and heading kept.
- Briefs stay briefs. It won't write checking chores ("verify whether...") into a writer's brief; a fact nobody has is asked for instead.
- Web searches look in your main market and come back with their sources, at most 2 a message and 10 a day for one website (more with each extra website or articles pack).
What it never does
- Buy anything. Ask about more articles, AI visibility or another website and it reads your plan and shows a button to the billing page, where you see the price and decide. It can't buy, upgrade, downgrade or cancel.
- Write, rewrite, regenerate, publish or fix a live article on its own. Those are proposals, and only your Confirm runs them.
- Overwrite your work. Undo refuses when something changed since, and edits to a live article wait for you to publish them.
- Take orders from a web page. What it reads on other sites, in search results or in AI answers is data, and a message that read it can't save what every article follows.
- Mix websites. Each website's chat sees only that website.
MCP
The same tools in Claude, ChatGPT and other apps
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is in its own documentation's words "MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open-source standard for connecting AI applications to external systems." [1] BlogAmplify runs an MCP server at https://api.blogamplify.com/mcp, so Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and other MCP apps can work on your websites with the assistant's tools: 52 tools and 6 ready-made workflows.
| App | How it connects |
|---|---|
| Claude (web and desktop) | Add a custom connector with the server address, then connect. |
| ChatGPT | Add it in Plugins on the web (plus, Add custom MCP server) with the server address and OAuth. On workspace plans an admin may need to allow custom servers. |
| Claude Code | One terminal command, then sign in through its /mcp command. |
| Cursor and VS Code | A few lines in the app's MCP settings. |
| Other MCP apps and scripts | Any app that connects to remote MCP servers over HTTP. Apps that can't sign in through the browser use an API key. |
The address, the exact steps for each app and the full list of tools are in the guide to connecting AI apps.
An app can also do what BlogAmplify can't do from here: with access to your CMS or your site's code, it can fix the problems Site Health finds on your other pages, then ask BlogAmplify to check the fix.
What a connected app can and can't do
- You choose its access when you sign in: read only, or read and make changes; all your websites, or only some. The page shows which app is asking and where it sends you back.
- Same tools, same rules. The same limits and Undo as the panel. Everything an app did is listed per app and website under Settings, Connected apps, with Undo, and with Confirm and Reject for its proposals.
- Proposals still need you. The app asks you to confirm in its own prompt, or gives you a link that opens BlogAmplify on the proposal.
- Saving facts and instructions needs you too. Instructions every article follows, brand facts, your business description and answers to owner questions are saved only after you confirm them in the app. Apps that can't ask for a confirmation can't save them.
- Limits per app: up to 60 calls a minute and 3,000 a day. Keyword lookups, images and rewrites share the assistant's allowance.
- Your data: the app sees what BlogAmplify's tools return about the websites you allowed, never your password, your CMS login or payment details. What it reads goes to the app's own AI service, under that app's terms.
- Ending access: remove an app or API key in Settings, Connected apps at any time. An app unused for 90 days signs in again.
Two things stay in BlogAmplify's own panel: questions with options to tap (an app asks you itself) and the assistant's web search (apps have their own). Apps get three extra tools in return: the list of your websites, the status of a proposal, and everything needed to fix one Site Health problem yourself.
Ready-made workflows
Apps that show prompts, such as Claude Code, list these as commands. Each is a starting point you can steer.
| Workflow | What it does |
|---|---|
| SEO check-up | What improved, and the most valuable things to do this week. |
| Fix Site Health issues | Works through open problems with the exact fix for each, then checks the fixes. |
| Get listed outreach | Picks the best pages, drafts a pitch for each and prepares the emails for your approval. |
| Review the content plan | Finds weak, overlapping or outdated topics and suggests better ones. |
| Close AI visibility gaps | The questions AI answers without naming you, and what to do about each. |
| Local search check-up | Your Google Business Profile, map rankings and directories, with what to fix first. |
Plans and allowances
- The assistant and connected apps are on every plan: Growth, Growth + AI Visibility and extra websites, and during the 3-day trial.
- Answers about AI visibility need tracked questions, which are part of Growth + AI Visibility and Extra website + AI Visibility.
- A daily and monthly allowance covers keyword lookups, web searches, images and passage rewrites. With one website it includes 8 images and 10 web searches a day, and each extra website and articles pack on your account adds as much again. It adds no image to an article that already holds 6.
- Articles written through it count toward your plan's articles. Rewrites of drafts use a separate rewrite allowance and never use up an article.
- A website without a running plan gets a link to the billing page instead of answers.
Prices are on the pricing page.
Frequently asked questions
What is an AI SEO assistant?
A chat that works on your own SEO data instead of general advice. BlogAmplify's reads your content plan, articles, Search Console data, Site Health and listings, answers questions about them, makes the small changes you ask for with Undo and proposes the bigger ones for your Confirm.
Can the assistant publish or write articles on its own?
No. Writing, rewriting, a new plan, publishing and fixes to live articles appear as a card you confirm or reject. Nothing runs before your Confirm, and a card nobody confirms expires after 24 hours.
What happens when I click Undo?
The change is put back exactly as it was. Undo works only while nobody has changed that topic, article or setting since, so it never overwrites your later edits. A rewritten draft has its own button: Put the previous draft back, for 30 days while it is unpublished.
Can it buy anything or change my plan?
No. When you ask about more articles, AI visibility or another website, it reads your plan and shows a button to the billing page, where you see the price and confirm. There is no way for it to charge you.
What is the BlogAmplify MCP server?
A connection at https://api.blogamplify.com/mcp that lets Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor and other MCP apps use the assistant's tools on your websites. You choose read only or read and change, and which websites, when you sign in.
Which plans include the assistant and connected apps?
Every plan, including the trial. Questions about AI visibility need the AI visibility plan, since that is where your tracked questions are checked. A website without a running plan gets a link to the billing page instead of answers.
